The production of free radicals in organisms is inherent to our evolutionary origin, and most living beings are aerobic beings that breathe oxygen from air or water. While this makes us very energetically efficient, it also produces free radicals that affect health. To reduce the problem, nature has developed several antioxidant systems, from the first line of antioxidant enzymes, the real heroes of the fight to vitamin E and its recovery system ready to trap “errant” electrons. To have good antioxidant ingredients is to help the body’s antioxidant systems recover in their ongoing fight against oxidative stress.
In order to help the body fight oxidative stress, we have prepared a range of solutions inspired by nature–from specific triterpene and polyphenol extracts from Mediterranean plants, which regularly fight heat and water stress, to plant extracts from sub-arctic climates rich in stilbenes and flavonoids, which protect plants from harsh climatic conditions and especially from summers with almost 24 hours of solar radiation.
