The “magical” abilities of camels

Ephifany, Camel and Milk

 Dear colleagues,

Related with Epiphany, this week we want to dedicate the article to the animals that transported the 3 wise men to Bethlehem… the camels.

In particular, we will review the almost magical properties of camel’s milk, which from our scientific point of view is as valuable as the gold, frankincense or myrrh carried by the camel passengers.

Camel’s milk has been found to have several health benefits, including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects. These effects are largely due to bioactive peptides such as those also contained in our NBG hydrolysed protein DigestaPro:

These peptides appear to act by reducing the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS), hydroxyl radicals, nitric oxide (NO) and other pro-oxidant molecules.

Evidence suggests that camel milk and its bioactive components have great therapeutic potential for treating diseases caused by inflammation, oxidative stress, and immunosuppression.
