NBG EnteroShield and Necrotic Enteritis in Chickens

Dear colleagues,
Necrotic enteritis (NE) is a major problem in the broiler chicken industry and is caused by Clostridium perfringens.
It reduces the weight of animals by more than 10% and can increase their feed conversion ratio by more than 10%.
The main cause of NE is Clostridium perfringens, a gram-positive anaerobic bacterium that occurs naturally in the intestine but can become pathogenic when intestinal disorders occur due to starvation, stress, changes in diet, other intestinal pathogens, the use of antibiotics for therapeutic purposes, etc.
Curcumin is an extract of Curcuma longa, a plant of the Zingiberaceae family, widely used as a spice and coloring agent in Asian countries. In addition to its coloring effect, curcumin has powerful anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties that can be very useful in controlling intestinal disorders that predispose individuals to necrotizing enteritis or in directly alleviating its effects.
The active ingredients in turmeric are curcumin, tetrahydrocurcuminoids, demethoxycurcumin, and bisdemethoxycurcumin.
At NBG, we have created NBG EnteroShield, which uses NBG BioBoost and NBG Protect technology to enhance the effect of curcumin on the health of chickens affected by intestinal disorders.
Finally, here is an article that shows how curcumin can reduce the intestinal load of Clostridium perfringens and therefore improve the survival and production parameters of broiler chickens.
