Nutritional immunity of fish intestines: important knowledge for sustainable aquaculture

Dear colleagues,
This week, I propose an interesting review of intestinal health… but in fish.
Although the intestinal immune system in fish is less developed than in mammals or birds, caring for intestinal health and the associated immune system can significantly improve the overall health of the animal. In fact, the methods for achieving good health are very similar to those for land animals: a good combination of the right nutrients together with different types of additives, from herbal extracts to probiotics.
Furthermore, in my experience, additives developed to reduce the negative effects of stress work better in fish than in land animals… perhaps because aquatic animals have been domesticated more recently and are more sensitive to stress than chickens or pigs.
