Anticoccidial activities of extracts from Salvadora persica (arak), Zingiber officinale (ginger) and Curcuma longa (turmeric) in the control of coccidiosis in chickens

Dear colleagues,
This week, I have chosen an article that presents three natural phytogenic anticoccidial alternatives: S. persica (arak), Z. officinale (ginger), and C. longa (turmeric).
All three products show very interesting results, and although S. persica appears to be the best, it should be remembered that the curcuminoids in C. longa have limited action due to their low availability. Therefore, stabilising and protecting these curcuminoids or other photogenic active molecules is an issue to be taken into account in order to increase the effectiveness of phytogenic additives.
It is true that more trials are needed to solve coccidia problems with phytobiotics, but I am totally convinced that we are on the right track.
